    LISTENING

    Smitten Singles started in 2022 because dating had become exhausting for too many people. Apps were taking up too much space. Large singles events often felt random. And people who genuinely wanted a relationship were being asked to keep sorting through strangers and hoping the right person happened to be there.

    So we started bringing people together in person. We hosted events. We watched what happened. More importantly, we listened to the people who came back, the people who did not, and the people who told us exactly what was missing.

    Hundreds of events and thousands of conversations later, Smitten Singles looks very different than where we began.

    At first, it was easy to assume that bigger events meant better odds. If there were more people in the room there were more people to meet and more chances that something might click.

    But that is not what people really wanted.  Serious daters wanted better rooms with more context. They wanted to stop spending an entire night meeting people they knew were not a fit. We found that smaller groups work better, they allow for people to explore connections with everyone present. More intentional invitations work to get the right people in the room. A dating experience should feel personal, not like a numbers game.

    That is why Smitten Singles is growing beyond a calendar of events. The next version is built around more intentional opportunities, stronger support, and a better understanding of who is actually looking for what. Some people want to attend a Smitten Dating event while some want more direction. Others may be a fit for a curated experience, or a referral to one of our preferred matchmaking partners.

    We are independently operated and guided by what we have learned from the people who trust us with the most important part of their lives. We believe ethics matter in dating. We are proud members of the Matchmakers Alliance and work alongside trusted partners to bring better options to singles across the United States. We are not interested in keeping people endlessly dating. We are interested in helping them find opportunities worth showing up for.
